History
1972
Hydroflo was established in 1972 by entrepreneur John P. Klembeth, a former design engineer for BIF and Milton Roy Company. Mr. Klembeth’s purpose for Hydroflo Corp. was to fulfill a need in the growing irrigation, fertigation, chemical, water and waste water treatment markets.
Hydroflo quickly became known as a “can do” company because of its ability to deliver quality products promptly. This was achieved through the engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and packaging of both pumps and systems under one roof, aided by Klemco Engineering Inc., also founded by Mr. Klembeth.
The product line initially included simplex and duplex plunger pumps featuring self-adjusting packing. The line was expanded to include the Chem-Injector D line of metering pumps with capacities up to 2500 GPH and pressures to 3000 PSI, along with a full line of accessories including back pressure valves, safety relief valves, calibration columns, pulsation dampeners, electronic capacity controllers, and variable speed drives.
1983
By 1983, Hydroflo/Klemco outgrew its Dublin, PA location and relocated to a new 30,000 square foot facility located in Plumsteadville, PA. This facility served as the manufacturing headquarters for the next 23 years.
1996
In 1996, John Klembeth sold the Hydroflo line to Penn Process Technologies, which was run by Steve Fierce until 2000 when it went bankrupt (receivership).
2001
Nikkiso Pumps purchased the company out of bankruptcy from the bank in early 2001 and made Hydroflo a part of Nikkiso Pumps America. Nikkiso already had its own line of comparable pumps and was primarily focused on promoting those through Hydroflo’s established sales channels. In 2006 Nikkiso Pumps America decided to sell the Hydroflo line of products.
2007
Precision Flow Technologies Inc., recognizing the performance history and impeccable reputation of this pump line, was thrilled to acquire it. We re-launched this legendary line as AquFlow in March 2007 with a commitment and enthusiasm not only to reclaim its former glory but also to invest all our resources in making it the leading brand among chemical metering pumps.
In the initial months, we dedicated all our efforts to organizing operations to achieve peak performance, surpassing customers’ expectations. When customers began to experience same-day shipping of service parts and delivery of standard pumps within 3-5 days, they acknowledged that AquFlow has added the much-needed support dimension to the pumps’ design legacy of reliability and durability. The market is also realizing that AquFlow (the revitalized Hydroflo) is back and here to stay. With growing confidence, customers are returning to embrace their pump of choice.

AquFlow’s New Facility
In our warehouse, we utilize the most current MRP system, enabling us to closely track inventory from the incoming inspection to shipping. We also have processes in place for regular physical verifications to ensure we never run out of small parts that could delay critical orders. These tools and processes allow us to claim a 90% same-day shipment rate for service parts orders. Additionally, we can build, test, and ship standard, commonly used pump models within a week.
For customization, we have added in-house capabilities to modify and develop tailor-made solutions for your most complex chemical metering needs. Whether your assembly requires special machining, welding, assembly, or testing, we have a dedicated line to handle all custom projects without disrupting regular production.
Some of our customers request special testing and verification for their certifications. We have the instrumentation to perform most of these tests and provide documentation to make the process easy for our customers. Our ability to track parts from the very beginning allows us to easily identify the batch for every part used in the pump. This capability supports our rigorous Quality Assurance program, preventing any faulty parts from being used to build a pump.
Since we handle various sizes of pumps starting from the smallest to the large 4000 series monster, we included a packaging and shipping facility in our warehouse that can appropriately package them. From UPS boxes to wooden pallets and customized welded metal skids, we ensure your pump is placed in a durable package to withstand the usual mishandling by carriers.
Due to the fact that we are located near many major international airports and seaports, we have the capability to safely, efficiently, and swiftly ship freight to any global destination.
We have regular audits involving all staff, from line workers to top management, to ensure that not only are we conforming to the processes, but also improving and enhancing them to better support our customers. This unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction is the essence of our entire manufacturing operation.
2024
In 2024, we decided to rebrand. we always put our customers first and any feedback from them is not only valued but acted upon. When they pointed out that the spelling of AquFlow causes confusion with “Aquaflow”, we decided to fix it by changing our spelling to AcuFlow. We had to preserve and build upon our hard-earned brand identity by eliminating anything that stand in its way. The only thing that changes with this subtle spelling change is a more accurate brand definition to match our accurate flow from a trusted pump Made in USA by a reliable company since 1972.
